Couponing and saving money doesn't have to be extremely hard. Many times there are simple things you can do to save big. One of my favorite things to do is comb through my weekly paper for unique coupons that will help me save on items I can't normally save on.
For example, if it's time for new shoes then I will look for coupons that can help me save on shoes. Linens for the bed? I'll be double checking for that 20% off Bed Bath and Beyond coupon.
Most people look for these types of ways to save money, but what are some easy ways to save on groceries? Here are some tips:
1. Look at the front of the sales flier and focus on buying just the items on sale when making your shopping list. Most of the time these items are loss leaders: items stores lose money on in order to get customers shopping in the store.
2. Look for discounted items or items going out of date. Many stores mark down or clearance items that are being discontinued or going out of date.
3. Use a site like Amazon.com or Vitacost.com to buy items that you regularly shop for and need a good discount on. Amazon in particular has an automatic shipment plan that gives you a good discount.
4. Check for printable coupons for your favorite brands. Many times you'll find coupons on their Facebook pages, websites, and even third party sites like Coupons.com. These are just a couple of simple and easy tricks to help save you big money on groceries! What are some of your tips for saving big?Want to attend a Grocery Savings Class?
