Why it Matters#lifeiswhy

Know your numbers (blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and body mass index / BMI) and schedule your annual well-woman visit. Learn more about the causes, your risk factors, and prevention tips here.

"Get your friends to get sewing." That's what the Australian Marine Wildlife Research and Rescue Organization is asking on their Facebook page in the name of suffering Australian koalas burned in recent wildfires.

According to reporter Jeremy Pearlman at the Telegraph, numerous koalas were killed and injured in the past week as fires spread across the states of South Australia and Victoria.

The first victim, named Jeremy by his caretakers (pictured), received second-degree burns on his paws and is getting treatment from four wildlife agencies in Australia. Jeremy has received mittens to help with his healing, but vets expect many more koalas to come through the doors.
