I remember Usain Bolt famously saying he ate 100 McDonalds chicken nuggets each day at the 2008 Beijing Olympics (he wasn’t confident his stomach could handle unfamiliar food, so went with a sure thing). So what are athletes eating to start their day at the Paris games?
Haley Batten, mountain biking for Team USA, eats pancakes. Lots of ‘em. Topped with bananas and maple syrup.
Luke Willian, triathlon for Australia: cornflakes with whole milk. (Oh, and cookies and gummy candies during the day!)
CJ Allen, track and field for Team USA, drinks a blended coffee. Yeah, he makes it himself. French press coffee, cordyceps fungus, MCT oil, grass-fed butter, grass-fed whole milk, pure vanilla extract, Ceylon cinnamon, collagen peptides, a cacao LMNT electrolyte packet, peppermint essential oil and local raw honey. Whew!
That’s enough to make a barista’s head explode!
