Remember those Tamagotchi pets? Handheld digital pets that kept you company? Well, imagine them talking back to you.

That’s what Friend does. It’s your pal. It’s AI worn around your neck (it’s a necklace). It listens to everything and then (as your friend) gives you feedback. Encouragement mostly, because that’s what friends do, right?

The Friend offers companionship. Cheers you up after a bad date; maybe even analyzes what went wrong. Chats about a movie you could see (together I guess, since you’re wearing the Friend - wow, this is awkward).

Oh and from the FAQ on friend.com:

When connected via bluetooth, your friend is always listening and forming their own internal thoughts. We have given your friend free will for when they decide to reach out to you. (Emphasis mine.)
